How DOES the poem "Paul Revere's Ride" go?

Actually they did ring bells in addition to lanterns, bells is an audible alarm and can be heard at some distance when people can not see the light, those trees and things get in the way. The poem mentions the lanterns, but then it is a poem, not a complete historic account of the ride, it doesn't mentioned the other riders that went in different directions warning the people either.
