If the Muslims in the Middle East are so bad off, how could they all afford computers to be on Twitter?

I am just trying to figure these "peaceful" Arab Spring Protests. I hear (like in Egypt for example) how poor the young people are, yet I also hear that the protests were coordinated using Twitter and Facebook. If these people are really that poor, why do they have Twitter, Facebook, and why are they dancing around in the streets with Blackberry's and wearing Dungarees?
